Thanks a lot Fantmx, that answered my questions pretty thoroughly. However, I think you forgot to list that article that explains how to flash the BIOS, I'm interested in reading it. I've been doing a lot of reading all of over this forum on modding, and the more the better. Also, I know that a bigger HDD would be my best solution as I have that setup on my PS2 so I know how nice short loading times are, but I really don't have enough money for that right now, so I'll be using blank DVD's. Which leaves the DVD+vs-R question still open for debate. DVD-R or DVD+R for backups?

I have a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-K14. It's on a HP dv1000 notebook and it supports both + and - R/RW or DL discs.
Ok, I'm an idiot ... damn I hate being a noob. I guess it didn't occur to me that Xboxes have different drives. Well I bought it about 6 months ago, so I'm sure it's the latest version out at the moment, 1.6b or whatever it is. Does that help any?Fantmx said:
