im totally new to this realm hell i havent even played xbox for more than 2 hours in my life.. anyways. i got one because i liked what my buddies mod could do as far as xbox media center.

i got the 1.6b xbox and x3 rebuild with pcb

i read the tutorial and then saw the thread about the rebuild x3, the pcb basically takes place of the LAN/HD LEDs and D0 and thats it, or does it also take care of the LAD0, LAD1, LAD2, and LAD3?

thanks guys and sorry for the newb thread

ok thanks.. i did the pin header with the rebuild pcb the 2 led and D0 to the pcb rebuild d0 point.. i also did the v5 red cable and the switch.. i boot it up and it boots up normal like there was no mod in it.. the external switch shows nothing.

im going to get out a magnify glass tomm and double check all connections, if you had to guess which one it would be , what do you think? according to the above paragraph does it sound ok?

thanks guys

i didnt realize there are LEDs on the chip itself, i have it all put back to gether .. i will open it up real quick and check.. brb about 5mins

EDIT: i pulled out the HD and DVDR.. i powered it up and theres a blue led reflection on the motherboard. im assuming that you dont want me to power it up without it plugged into the LPC port. but thats all the LEDs that i saw, the blue on the underneath of the x3 chip

try to find out if it is 2 or 1 leds coming on. if both come on then your problem is the d0.

yes!! the service is required is coming on because the hd and dvd are unplugged. can you tell me which of the 2 leds is coming on? the 5v or the 3.3v. im guessing that it is the 5v in which case you must connect the alternate 5v connnection if you didnt understand what i said then go read the tutorial for the version 1.6 xboxes which can be found on the right side of the teamxecuter homepage.

ok i couldnt really tell whch LED it was.. but i tested continuity from the 5v pin on the x3 chip whch is connected to the spot on the tutorial and i measured the part its soldered to and it had nothing.. but when i soldered that on there the solder did not want to stick it all.. im thinking there is glue or something on it because the solder just balled up and always came back up with the iron or solder wick. the ironic part the tutorial said this was the easiest solder point, but it isnt..lol anyways i know its on there because the wire is stuck to it good.. any ideas?

EDIT: the 5v actually does get continuity. I pulled the board and tested some traces on the rebuild PCB to make sure theres connection as well as using a magnify glass look the best i can for spots. everything seems to look ok. Should the blue LED be coming on the x3 if it were working?
