I apologize if I sound like a complete noob but, well, I am so here is my situation. I just finished my first x3 wire install on a 1.0 box with the original hard drive. I installed the external switch and everything ok and I triple checked all of my solder points with a multimeter. When I finished I hooked it up and gave the power button a quick tap and the switch led turned blue.....but I get no video. I tried a long tap and the led turned red and I heard the usual sound of the xbox dash but I got no video. I know it's not the cable or the tv because I had just got done using it and they both were fine. I checked all of the cables and solder points and everythings fine. I even took the chip off of the board and it does the same thing. Is this a common problem or is there a specific point on the board that deals with video that may have a problem? I apologise if this has been brought up but I searched and couldn't find a similar problem.

Thanks in advance for any help.

No just the hookups that came with it. Just to clarify, could one of the traces near the back d0 have something to do with it? I had to repair a few after a failed attempt but they were tested and were connected ok. This just seems like a wierd problem because the only problem I had was the d0 making it frag and then this comes up. Should I just give up and buy a new board? I just hope that if I have to that I can get it cheap.

Thanks

Sorry for the dp but I thought that I would also add something. I used a wire install and this site offers little to no help with wire installs so could that be the problem? The chip isn't neatly mounted and I have to tape it down. Could that be something?

Sorry for all of the posts but I tried something. I took out the dvd drive and hard drive and it booted perfect. Turns out the hard drive is making it do that. Anybody know what the problem is?
