Why not just get someone to fit a chip properly? You won't regret it!

Yes I agree, the Spiderchips became the only non solder chips for the 1.6 at the time but are limited to 256k and you now have better options with the Xenium Spice and Smartxx 16 spider but I never have or will recommend non solder and you should try and get someone to solder a chip in for you only using the non solder option as a last resort.
