Hello,

I have a a question. I think in the past if I try to change the drive form my xbox without change the key or if a turn on the xbox without a drive the xbox give an error and dont enter in the dash. But yesterday i tried to do this change the drive without change the key, and the drivers are form diferente manufacters and dont apear any error and it run the games, and without the drive the xbox dont show any error two. This is normal? now we dont need to change the key only put another drive form another xbox and works?

Sorry for my bad english.

Thanks

xbox will boot without the dvd connected no problem you will just get a green flashing light and it will say drive opening in the dash. But you cannot just switch the drive without the key being written to the new drive unless you switch the pcb's in the drive

When I say original i am refering to the game cd. The drive of the xbox is a liteon and I put an Hitachi.

Did you flash your dvd key to the new drive? And Spoofing drives is no longer supported.

No, I dont change the key form the hitachi. And the Hitachi drive works well in the 2 xbox and the Liteon two. I don´t connect the xbox to the internet.

If you did not flash the DVD key to the drive, That goes to that console, then "NO" games will work. Only DVDs (movies).

The DVD Key on the drive "Must" match the the consoles DVD Key.

Now this is something i would love to see. Can you put your two machines side by side. Open, and load an original game in one, then swap the drive over and load it in another 360 with just drive transfer.

The combination of 32 Hexadecimal characters in a dvd key gives nearly 3.40282366920938e+38 combinations of key. The idea of having two 360 with the same dvd key is virtually impossible.

Unless the original machines was a xenon's, with Type 1 KV and the KV was changed to be the same.
