GENERAL Spoof or inject?

What is the difference between spoofing a drive and injecting a key into a drive....... or is there a difference?
And why one over the other. Is it something to do with not getting banned?

My understanding is what follows:
Spoofing = "using a different type of drive than what orignal came in your xbox and spoofing it with the original drives key information"

Inject = "Injecting your DVD key into the nand so that your console and can utilize a drive"

someone please chime in if I am wrong.

Spoofing is changing one drive model's firmware to make it look like another drive model...Say if it is a liteon dvd drive you could spoof it to look like a benq or samsung or hatachi..This is not recommended and will get you banned quickly...Injecting is when you put your dvd key into a custom firmware and flash it to your drive in order to play your backed up games..This can also be done to stock OEM firmware, if you don't have yours, to flash it back to stock. I don't believe you can change the key inside the nand.Cog
