Alright so this is my situation.

I currently have a Xenon Jtag and my Hitachi drive I believe is starting to die. It's currently only burning new games and some old games it doesn't want to burn/read. I know lol that's weird since it's an old drive but likes newer games.

So I'm currently stuck trying to rap my head around doing this. I have the old dump of the Hitachi drive now that I did over a month ago and it's saying that the drive cannot even be found in jungle flasher. Good thing I saved the back up from it which is the HIT-ofw.bin.

So what I want to do is since I have another DVD drive which is a BenQ I would like to spoof the BenQ drive as the Hitachi drive so I can use the BenQ drive in my Jtag instead of using the old Hitachi drive.

Does anybody please have a good video tutorial or a tutorial thread or walk through on how to do this. I know this may be pretty easy to some of you but It's hard to rap you whole mind around the process.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Why are you making backups of your retail game discs for a JTAG console?

You can copy the discs to your console's HDD and play from there without the disc.

If you want to use the BenQ drive, simply flash it with the console's drive key (you don't need to spoof anything).

Opps I'm sorry I forgot to add in that's what we're trying to do. Getting the games to burn onto the external HD. Basically via XEX menu when you put the game in you can copy the disc files to the hd.. im pretty sure you know what I'm talking about with that haha.

So if I'm reading this correct all I have to do is change the DVD key of the BENQ drive to the one from the Hitachi drive with jungleflasher? I don't have to change anything else like spoofing the drive model or anything from it? Thanks for the quick reply I appreciate it.

Just create a BenQ firmware containing your console's drive key - you don't need to spoof the OSIG.

Did not even know that haha. Do you happen to know any tutorials or walk through on how to do this step? I'm really excited because I've been trying to rap my head around this for about 2 hours now lol and I really do thank you for the help you're giving me. So if you know any tut videos or tut threads on how to do this part it would help me out so much.
