Spoofing

Hey guys, just another noob here. I actually have a question simply for my curiosity, but not to mention I do in fact have this kind of dvd drive. I figured here is the place to get the best info. I've been reading so much on the internet and honestly so many people have different posts or articles that contradict what another person says, and also I know as time passes, things change in the xbox world and become obsolete or things we never thought we would see become reality in fact do become just that. So I guess my question is on spoofing. I read that it's a thing of the past. Like apparantly at one time you could replace any dvd drive with another as long as you copied the firmware and key off of the original dvd drive and "spoofed" it into the replacement to make your xbox think it's the same one that's always been in there. Is that not possible anymore? It has to be the same drive replacement now correct? Is that due to Microsoft's adjustments or "fixes" in the dashboard updates? Thanks for the reply guys.

If it pertains to the same problem you should probably just ask all these questions in the same thread... But spoofing is no longer supported that's why it won't work past a certain dash update.
