Re: Russian 0225 Unlock Tutorial for MXIC memchips (soldering and trace cuts)

works on winbond 2 wow.. This is a massive step forward from impossible to write. Glad not everyone gave up trying to find a way to write to these drives.
How did you get it to work?
How much Ohm did you use?

I am getting SPI 0xFF with 4,7 Ohm.

sometimes ;), the drive always comes at vendor mode with a probe connected to the yellow wire and MPX01 point.
Press [Intro device ID] then click on yes, Turn off the drive and put the probe on MPX01, connect the drive and remove the probe.
This works always and You can be use in cases of BAD flash.

This is SWEET!! I have a 0225 sitting in it's box since I've gotten my JTAG running. might have to take it out and see what's up.

Thanks!

yes. via 6421a pci windows 7. Do I need to install any driver? Why is it that the 10ohms resistor turns really hot when I try to connect it.

It's PCI SATA + IDE card.

is 0xDF the correct spi. JF says 0xDF00

In the JF manual talks about freezing problems using VIA card.
Yes, the resistor heats up, not put it for long time, remember they are only 10 0hm.
The PC I/O adress is DF00 for you, in your case.

OK I got 0x8E. When I click the unlock after connecting the resistor, 0x8E doesn't change to 0x0 and just got a message. What am I doing wrong?
