the jtag seems to not wanna shut down at random times, mostley when i use the remote to shut down.

i hit the power button and remote disconects, tv turns black, all lights on xbox turns off, but fans continue to spinn and voila 5 secs later it is booting as normal on its own, it can take up to 5 times til it accually shuts off.

and also some times very rarely when i turn it on it only starts the fans nothing else no power lights no nothing and it won't boot until i turn it off and on again.

do you have a play and charge kit plugged in? that would cause similar behaviour also the background downloads being on could cause the not shutting down fully
yes i meant to mention that i have to unplug the play and charge kit to get it to turn of somtimes, since i always use the kit due to worn out battery. but if i switch over to another smc would it fix it ?

Worth a try, JTAG's are known to have weird issues, and I've had a few in my time.

If you unplugged everything including the HDD, and it no longer shows that issue, then there is something wrong with the accessories attached to the console.

Then work your way by plugging back things one by one until the issue re-appears.

If the above does not fix it, try re-wiring your console again with fresh diodes, and alternative SMC.

its the play and charge kit 100% if it is still charging the battery the xbox goes into a kind of hibernate mode so it can still charge it then will shut down once its complete but if yours is not charging will probably sit like this forever. unplug it and test if you like but its definatly that and nothing to do with smc configs. you can also just hit the power button twice quickly and it will turn off.

the ting is it's only hibernating for 5sec's then it's on to booting again. it's not like me elite wich as you say hibernates til it's done charging then shuts off..

do you have the 12v fan mod? if so that could cause issues
why would i? freestyle dash FTW. but thanx tho

i'm using the QSB's i remember there was a switch with 3 or 4 settings perhaps a resistor? could it simply be it needs to be set differently? diodes and resitors and such is hard to come by as i do not know where to get them in norway ( we don't have radioshack or anything like that )

but i will try removing hdd, mem card and so on and se if anything changes.
