Started Xbox Without Controller - Problem?

I just started my xbox without a controller plugged-in. It immediately jumped to the flashbios screen - is that normal?

Also, could I have caused damage / corruption to the bios by turning-off the xbox while it was cycling through the initial steps of the flashbios screen?

Since I have done this, I have noticed a lot of audio/visual skipping during gameplay, and during the initial xbox boot-screen... Could these issues be a result of the above?

Starting without controller= no problem.

Shutting down while flashing, could have been a big mistake. Try reflashing without shutting down before it finishes.
