Luckily, I had a spare 512mb memory card lying around and used that to finish the update.
I will add that the second part of an update (where it might advise you about insufficient space) is only avatar information. Unless you plan on staying on that dash version, you can just cancel it. No harm done.

Additionally, you may want to check that your DVD drive has been re-updated to the sufficient post-13146 firmware, as the DVD drive update is normally in the first part of the update, before that screen comes up. Though I haven't confirmed this, I believe that the new kernel will reject the old DVD-ROM firmware, thus stopping you from playing games that would otherwise run just fine. Try re-flashing the drive with your post-13146 firmware and try your games again. Of course, it may truly be a case of wrong DVD Keys, but narrowing it down is the best way to start. For future problems like this, I recommend that you only use the USB-Based update method ($systemupdate folder on USB root) for recovering from this error before trying any drive flashing. Under many conditions, this is caused by someone who is running CFW running a disk update from a backup. As the DVD-ROM firmware is overwritten before the bulk of the update can complete, the update is left unfinished and the required files no longer accessible. Of course, when you don't know which update revision to install, the Hex method is great.

For those that are unaware, look at the first two sections of this error code (3151-351F-B380-0F00-C000-000E).

3151-351F, in this case, details the dashboard, pre-update, with the first section and the applied update in the second section.

All you have to do is convert this to decimal using a hexadecimal to decimal converter.

When applied, the conversion brings 3151-351F to 12625-13599. As such, this console was updated from 12625 to 13599.
All you need is the 13599 update on your USB stick and you're usually set.

I have this same issue.

Error Code: 3151-335A-B800-0F00-C000-003A

I have a lite on 74850C. My question is when i write the drive to pre 13141,there are four different 74850C files (orig-74850C-1a000,1b000,1c000,1e000). Which one am i suppose to use?

Also, can i use a dvd disc instead of a USB drive to finish the update?

This happened to me a long time ago.
I made a video of it back in 2011.
Here's a video helping people if all else fails.

I fixed a Jasper using this method and it only cost me 15$ (the cost of the Jasper).

Or people should start reading and understand that 3151 and 335A are numbers that in decimal are 12625 and 13146, the first being the update the xbox was and the second the new update.
so yeah.... even the error code says which update file to use..

I can't believe I just witnessed someone making a video on how to format a USB stick and copy over a downloaded folder. Not to mention it wouldn't fix any other console unless it was stuck on 13146.

Congratulations for wasting youtube bandwidth.

Plus the majority of people that failed that update had wrong fw on the drive. That needed to be rectified before the update could finish.

In the case of a spelling error, I blame Tapatalk.
