I updated my 0225 drive and didnot run into this error but am I supposed to set the tx pcb to unlock as I kept the switch to lock. Can't remember if I did when I updated my slim. Just did not fancy soldering the orig pcb back in to update but if that is the only way then i'll have to.

the update is tryig to change the SPI status on that PCB....it didn't happen on yours because yours was locked from factory so the update didn't need to change the SPI status

yes - but the update sees the fact that your drive is an 0225......because of this it doesn't attempt to lock the SPI as m$ assume it as already locked......
with the 9504 (now 0272) it tries to lock the SPI on the 13599 update and fails on the TX PCB as this cannot be softlocked......it's looking to lock the SPI this time on your friends PCB

0225 is factory lock so you wouldnt get and error, 9504(0272) not factory locked microsoft need to lock the drive for the update to work properly then you can use TX board so you will need to put stock board in the console

what a pain. glad i got a 0225 no hot swapping every system update
you don't need to hot swap after this....unlock TX PCB....flash stock fw......lock PCB.....update dash......unlock PCB....flash CFW......lock PCB

remember - m$ wont change the SPI again....only check it ;)

Right i've put the orig pcb back and it resumed the update and now goes into the dash. Am i going to have to reflash the tx pcb or will it be fine the way it is.
