Status Lite from Team Xtek

While I am relatively new to the modding scene and the electronics scene as well; I have done a fair amount of research (hence my X3), and have noticed that there are all kinds of mods for controllers and the addition of LEDs to ports, etc. On xbox-scene the other day I came across this:

Which promises to be a no-solder add-in.

They don't seem to have any installation instructions or tech specs, so I have a question(s) for all of you folks here. ::edit:: they do have one, but its in their forums, not under the Tutorials link, where you'd expect it ::edit::

What is the likelyhood of Team Xecuter having something like this in the future?

Could a mod such as this be easily adapted into the X3 Control Panel, when it is released?

There are many tutorials on xbox-scene for you to do that, but they all require soldering that I've seen.

If you were looking for something that didnt require soldering that seems like the way to go, but if you dont mind trying your hand at soldering then you should read up on some of the procedures at xbox-scene.com and familarize yourself with the necessary steps and tools.

I myself am not a huge fan of the led where the port number is, but I have seen some tasteful ones that actually lit up only the number.

I must say it looked really clean.
