I discovered this after a member from the forums broght me their board as the original pad next to the HANA chip was lifted and another point was attempted but resulted in the console no longer powering on.

You need to run the orange wire (providing it extends enough) beneath the board and solder to the point showing in the picture below.

Cause more people will budge it up and end burning or removing the resistor completely. Hence it was given as a direction to solder to on the pad right next to it. Of course you can also solder to the trace running to the pad but how many people you know can do that :D.

Do you know if there is there an alternate point for the slims ?
I'm sure I can find one but haven't got any Slims to experiment with yet.

Yes it would RROD with error code 0010. You need a resistor in that point. You can try a standard 33ohm resistor or solder a 30+4.7ohm resistors in series.

People who can't do that should stay the hell out of this kind of thing anyway. Replacing a qfp ic is out of my league (for now.. DarkFib3r can vouch for that :)), but trace repairing and smd soldering.. that I can :)

Tuxuser posted another alternate (that I happen to like better). It's FT2R2, which is actually nowhere near any other points, so it's easier to not ruin anything in the process.

Except in the case of this board that I had to do the owner managed to ruin that point as well.

Have you tested it yet? As I said remember to shield those wires, the more the shielding the faster and regular it would boot.

Just for information purposes I have a 512 jasper here that the resistor was missing and soldering to the right side pad of where the resistor should be worked fine....it actually boots instantly every time, maybe worth experimenting?

I try a 33-Ohm resistor 1/2 watt. 5% tolerance and the xbox turn on but with rrod. i try a 4.7k 1/2 watt 5% tolerance the xbox does not turn on and i also try a 4.7-komh 1/8 watt resistor and the xbox dint turn on

Post a picture of your board and how exactly you soldered the resistors.
