HITACHI 79 still cant read XGD3 on 79FL with 2.0B

i really dont know what is going on with the latest Hitachi firmware , still cant runs my XGD3 backups , even with the new firmware .

the backups are good because i can run them properly with my spoofed liteon drive .

i thought this firmware will be good , but this is not the answer.

ill try later to burn the backups with IHASH , but why liteon know how to read those , but Hitachi no , btw the hitachi runs all the XGD2 really fast & quite .

if someone know something i'll be glad to know ...

Ok i take it you are using truncated disc`s which are not supported by the Hitachi CFW. Burn with the lite-on iHAS & you should have booting backups.

like i thought ... so if im stay out from live , im think to stay with the liteon he is reading everything Truncated or no ...

i thought that the reasson why CEVA release this 79 fix ...

not 100% sure but sure the 79 drives have ap25 and could be checking against dae.bin silently updated.

also if its truncated version it will not work as its not supported.

The only backup I've tried since 2.0b on a 79 is Arkham City (100% backup with Maxburner)
.
Installed game to hard drive. Went online to download game update and Catwoman dlc.


All installed and playing fine.
Don't know if I have received silent update but everything is good for now.
Will update if anything changes.

I don't know if this applies to 78/79 HITACHI'S but on NON 78/79 HITACHI'S all you had to do was pot tweak your laser from whatever it's at now down to 3.25 and the games will. I did it to my HITACHI 47 and all XGD3 backups play with no problems now. Hope this helps

its time to stop being cheap and buy an ihas and burn your backups properly

The fw works perfect with all burnermax xgd3 on verbatims

So many of you forget that hitachi lasers are the oldest and are the poorest quality

Get a new laser

And don't be a super noob and reply 'but my xgd2's work ok.....'

and if someone spoof to other drive and see that its read with Truncted Disc , its should be the same in the Hitachi ... im not a God that know those stuff basically ...

Liteon firmware and hitachi are not the same, if c4e says that 79 shouldn't read truncated disks then its obviously some thing he has had to implement to get rid of the original bug.

If you don't have the time to invest in learning this stuff, flash your drive back to stock and go back to using originals only. Don't play the victim because you don't want to put the effort in.

just updated my freinds befor lt2.0b came out and it works fine on the hitachi and my xdg3 backup but will watch out just incase i need to redo it it did error first time but i rebooted xbox and has worked fine scince.

My bad for late answer. But I am using verbatim, not burner max though. I am using img burn. The burns work on my Lite on and original x3gd. Could it be the silent update or something?

Lets get your terminology straightened out.

Burner Max = FW (software) on your Ihas drive
Img Burn = Software used to write to the drive

If you are NOT using burner max then just stop right here and follow this guide to the teeth.
