Well i'm new at this I must admit, but I have been reading a lot and got somewhat of a concept of it.

I have a v1.2 or 1.3 xbox, Samsung drive, Xecuter 3 mod chip, BIOS version 3.03.

I'm going to start with, how am I suppost to load "Slayers evox"?. At the BIOS screen and click "load bios disc"(tried didn't work)? Then tried holding the power button down to get to the MS dashboard to load it (says can't read disc).

Also I noticed in various pics that it shows a picture of the modchip they have on the bottom while its loading (where it says microsoft). Should mine be saying "Xecuter 3" or something? Also when it's in that state the light is red, meaning the modchip isn't ON, right?

My problem is, i'm trying to install a dashboard with no luck. Disc media is not the problem because i've made audio cd's with 3 different brands and they all work, so i burn using; nero - burn image (slowest speed - disk at once - finalized) doesnt work. I've tried to install different BIOS's in different switch settings and it gives me a "No bios to be updated....halting!" or something along those lines. I've tried adding a dummy file to them, still no luck.

I've read all the noob guides, read tons of threads. Still can't find an explanation, could it be that the modchip isn't installed correctly? I used a solderless adapter. But didn't solder down the LED lighting because I don't have the equipment to solder right now.

Anything would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance...

Did you download the Xecuter bios from the "Usual Places"?

That would be my first question, but I have a lot more..

Yes, I actually did a Network Flash, could that be the problem? But it worked fine when I did it. No problem at all.

You think I should burn it to a cd maybe? I have cd-rw's so I can fool around with them.

No, the network way is the best way to go.

So, the bios loaded without halting, etc?

Which Bios did you load?

Just get the evoxdash.xbe from xbins and copy it to the root of your harddrive along with the skins folder. Then go into X3 Config Live and edit the dashboard settings.

Bios version 3.03??? I think what you've done is just reflashed your chip with the FlashBios version.

Where did you download your bios from? If you're having problems finding the correct bios, read this: http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/xbins.php

No one here can tell you where to get the bios from, except the usual places.

However, check this tutorial http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/xbins.php like bigmak told you, and you should have no problems.

Put the bios on there and the rest will make sense.

By the way, as soon as you load your bios (the correct one) you can use your Slayers disk and away you go.

is it the flashbios 3.0.3 that you have flashed or X3 1959?
if it is flashbios 3.0.3 go back to the usual places and get X3 1959.

Ok, It restarts 3 times. Then it's a black screen, should i be waiting? or have I done something wrong?

ok nvm i switched the banks to 1-2 megs. and what do u know!!! it works!! thanks guys i really appreciate it.

Glad to hear it.

You will have more days of frustration ahead, but that was the worst of it ;)
