Stock Flashbios and 1.6b compatability

I have a 1.6b xbox and have bought an executer 3. I just want to make sure that the flashbios version that comes with it is compatable with my 3 week old xbox.

Martin C would understand why I'm posting this. I just want to know if there are any known glitches.

Are you sure youi have a 1.6b? Check the RAM inside.

If you get a frag, then it's soldering.

If you get no sound/video, then it's a FlashBIOS issue.

Try both 1MB Banks - 1234 and 5678. Most resellers are putting 3.0.3 on at least one of these.

The Backup BIOS usually has FlashBIOS 3.0.0 on it.

Yeah I do. It has the "hynix"chip or whatever. I don't frag. I just have a lot of problems. Like how the backup bios didn't work the night my hellhole began, then worked in the morning. I never got full flashbios booting from stock banks. I never tried bank 1234, just 5678; it froze while flashing to 5678.

Why would the X3 let me flash a 1mb bios with switch 1&3 selected? I think that's why flashbios wont load anymore, because I corrupted some random banks it was stored in(whatever switches 1&3 are). I'll have to reflash it with the backup bios.

That doesn't help. I know I f**ked up. And I know why I f**ked up. I figured it out on my own. I don't need you to remind me. I don't want to flame but your attitude is beginning to irritate me. I'm tired of reading posts about how you're not surprised my install isn't working and telling me that I need to "read the manuals." Martin C posts helpful posts, and I am relying on him now to pull me through.

Please understand, I want help, not someone telling me that i suck at modding(I know you didn't say that but still).

You have already been told what the problem is. There is no way you can overwrite the backup bios. It is permanent. SO just get that booting and then set your switches to how my tutorials tell you and flash the bios like my tutorials tell you then you wont have to read posts with me telling you to....



you would be as pissy as me if you had thousands every day posting garbage just because they couldnt even read. Yes I get irritated also - very much so ;)

I know that, unless you flash it from X3CL. I'm talking about the flashbios that comes up when no banks are selected (which is what I meant by "stock bios"), not the 256k backup bios. I believe when I accidentally flashed to (switches)1&3, I fuxored a bank that FlashBios was using (correct me if I'm wrong). I can't get that to come up, but I can get the backup bios to come up, which is fine. I just have to try again.

By the way, I DID read the f**king manual. I read everything pretty much. I just misread which switches to turn on for bank 5678.

lost key

hey all i have a lite-on DG 16d2s f/w 7485 a 7 serious that i moded with lite-on 1.1 i had all my files saved some how i lost em all i try recover the key again from my drive with a ck3 pro the r707 when i touch the r707 hole with the probe it wont light up to green wont light up at all not sure whats wrong im still trying as i type this can the key still be pulled again once u already had it!!!! also if i touch a hole next to the r707 my ck3 pro does light up to green meaning its working

use jf 1.74
it should show as "verified" when you refresh port (providing you are using same pc as you flashed it with before)
try dummy from keydb!
it will test the key in the database against drive and build you new dummy.bin for the drive!


On one final Note - Try reading the jungleflasher tutorial!
Things change with versions and new fw

and NO you cannot probe the R707 on a 7 series with LT fw on it!

ok but i reformated this pc that i flashed it on when i click keydb it says lite-on barcode not found then it says try searching but it just stays there blinking

so i guess im screwed

u have a tut for the mra hack................

so if a new hack firmware comes out i wouldnt be able to install it without my key right!!!


right now my drive is working fine with lite-on 1.1 on it
