if you are like me, you've modded your xbox and done the same for several of your friends. The majority of the mods i do, i end up swapping out the stock hard drive, because in reality, you are only left with around 4 gigs of space to store stuff on. So now, i have 10-12 stock xbox drives lying around.

So the question is, what do i do with these? I don't want to throw them away, 'cause they still work and could serve some purpose. But what purpose?

Only thing i can think of that would be usefull is to somehow throw them in to a raid array, but i'm no raid expert, infact i've never used raid in a computer, and so I have no idea how many drives you can actually link together.

But the main goal of this thread is to allow all of you share your interesting/funny/usefull ideas in what to do with those spare hard drives.

So, have at it.

You would need an IDE Raid controller
Also I hope you unloced the drives before you removed them

Promise Technologies make some nice IDE Raid products for pretty cheap

first step for me after installing and flashing the mod chip is unlocking the stock hd, of course. then install new hd, and lock it.

i guess i will have to do some more research into RAID so i can figure out how to set it up, now that i know it is a viable solution.

I've got some i'll sell you for $7 each (aussie dollars) Plus a nominal fee for shipping. ($6 or $7 probably)

How many do you want? I'll have to check but i think i've got half a dozen lying around. All unlocked and formatted in xbox.

Cheers

I have 17 drives currently, all cheerfully unlocked. I have shipped MANY of these out in the past but I flooded my main contact with drives :( (he sticks them in older PC's)

Make me a decent offer, or any offer really. I spend about $0.75 for each of these drives in bubble wrap and padded envelopes to ship out, please take that in consideration. I am in Los Angeles and welcome local pickup (and cash of course).
