Stolen Xbox in S.F.

Hope nobody minds this post, but if you are in the San Francisco bay area, keep your eyes open for somebody selling a v1.4 with an Xecuter 2.6 and a 40gb HD with Avalaunch as the default. It also has blue LED's swapped for the green's, and tri-color blinking LED's for the red's.

Some ass broke one of my car windows while I was parked in the city and took the backpack that I was transporting it in. It's not the cost of the hardware that I mind, but the hours I spent tweaking the hardware and software are lost forever.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Unfortunately, theft is one area that we really CAN'T offer you much assistance for. At least it's currently fairly cheap to mod a new unit.... and it's definitely worth the extra cost of replacing it. Are you going to get a new one ? If so, what mods are you planning to do ?

If u can see the hand print did u talk to the cops about lifting the prints I bet the scrott has print on file....

Check pawn shops in the area. Chances are they were after some fast cash, and its easier to carry some greenbacks than an Xbox. Hope you filed a police report - most people that break into cars are serial offenders - if they aren't on file yet, they may be soon.

I am going to get a new one, but I'm bummed about losing my 1.4. I'm sure I'll end up with a 1.6 (and the associated joy of rebuilding the LPC). On the plus side, I can now get a much larder hard drive, and an X3. I had one of my controllers half-moded to have LED's in the buttons. Glad I didn't get around to finishing that one.

I mentioned to the cops that we had fingerprints, and they didn't care because nobody got hurt.
