Strange frag

Just bought a XBOX Crystal v1.6 (not b) and fited a X3 in it. Then when I tried it it worked for about 60 min then it stoped and when I restarded it it flashed with a green light (green only) three times and then it fraged normaly with red/green flash at the end.

I checked all points but couldn't find anything and finaly I removed all that I had put in it and it still was the same. Starts and runs for about a minute and then it frags and after a reset it frags from the beginning. But if I wait 2-3 mins it starts again?!??!

Finaly I put it all together as I gave up for the night and while I brushed my teeh I put it on again and it worked. The only difference was that the cover was on again?!?!?

Seems like somehing is wrong with the mainboard or powersupply but I can't reall put my finger on it since it's working at the momemt. I will try again toninght to see if I can regenerate it.

Just wondering.....
Have u put some electricall tape on contacts?
make sure your 1.5v connection is good, clean and secure!

Did you use pogo pins for this install?

I did use pogo pin for install and I have done alot of 1.6 Xbox before but never ever seen this phenomena :shock:

I will try again after work with wire install, but first I will try it so I know for sure that it ait a problem before I start.

I had the same sort of problem on a 2.6
I found one of my joints were not soldered correctly, I used braid on the pogo pins and then resoldered!

SHAAAWING! worked for me!

Hello everyone, I got m console jtagged, with the latest freeboot 3 but want to paly new games, it asks me to update in order to play the game, what do I do update or what?

Make sure you have the latest version of freeBOOT (v0.03) installed - you can get it from xbins. The latest version will allow you to reboot into kernel 2.0.9199 (the latest kernel version right now).

If you have the latest version of freeBOOT and the game is asking you to update, it's probably not a dashboard / kernel update and should be fine to install. Make sure you have resistor R9T3 removed or the U6Tx points on the motherboard bridged just in case!
