Hi, ive installed my X3 chip in my 1.6B Xbox and its worked fine, however now ive got all my apps installed etc ive noticed that the external switch sometimes changes colour (i.e i start the box up with chip enabled, then after a while of watching a film etc it changes to red), however carrys on normally running the unsigned app that ive already started etc, is there any reason for this? is the chip disabaling, or just a strange bug?

hmm thats strange, im quite sure that shouldn't happen
check your solder points and connections to your external adapter

most likely the reset/eject board is loose or something. I dont think its the d0 but i guess it could maybe be that.
Ive got a 1.6B box fitted with a 2.6 chip and it does the same thing. I didnt think anything of it until I saw this post. Its weird but it doesnt seem to affect performance
actually, I've noticed something similar on mine - It'll be playing along fine, and the red leds will come on, along with the blues (like backup bios) but thinks keep working, no change... and sometimes it'll go back to straight blue. Haven't really paid much attention to it since it doesn't seem to be causing a problem, it's just weird.
Finally no cuts no soldering..Check this out!!
