Strange question?

I'm installing probably my 15th mod chip evrything from 2.3 pro to X3. This perticular box is a version 1.2-1.4 and i'm installing a 2.6 chip. The question is after install when i turn the box on i get the normal xbox dash board trying to boot. the chip is on and i've tried turning it off also retouched the points several times including the dO wire. I was under the impression that with the chip on even if the connections were pour that it would frag. Am i thinking correctly or just missing something. Can't recall ever having one turn on normal if i had a problem.

Do you get any lights on the chip? Try flipping the on/off switch for the chip a few times. If that doesn't work, check to make sure the D0 wire does not have any breaks in it.

I did try switching it back and fourth, I do get the blue led light on the chip. I didn't try flipping the switch back and fourth as if it maybe bad. I'll try that thanks for the input.
Also have checked the dO several times and retouch each time for good connection.

Well, it is possible that the D0 wire itself may be bad. Try testing the wire with a multimeter.

Tried new DO harness had an extra and still same thing the error code in the upper left is 16 not sure what the different codes mean anyone know where a list is.
