Strange Video Glitching

Ok thanks Team Xecuter for a great product,Install went great on a 512mb Jasper brand new.But when i play a game i get weird glitching of the video ( video will have another image of whats on the screen underneath or the screen will go black then come back on again,only happens every 3-4 minutes ), gone through and checked all my solder joints and all are ok.Is there any other reports of this as i have been all through the forums but it looks as if i'm the only one experiencing this problem

Can you post a pick of what it looks like when it happens.
My initial thought is that you may need to reflow the GPU.
It's possible that you've disturbed the board whilst soldering.

i thought that initially but ive never seen it happen on a jasper.

that looks weird lol. have you tried another hdmi cable or av cable? if youre using hdmi then test it with standard av and see if it still happens.

Using the same hdmi cable on another 360 so thats ok.I'll try component and get back

im only troubleshooting mate and might not make a difference but the jtag could have caused an issue with the hdmi output.

Had it on for 5 mins so far and no strange video glitches so far so looks like hdmi connection is to blame have to take it to bits tomorrow and have a look

i think the standard jtag can cause issues with hdmi. i personally use the alt smc because it stops this. tbh mate im not an expert on this but i believe thats the cause of your problem. youll have to use composite of do the alt smc.

Thanks for your help if i do the alt smc do i do both or just one ? And do i have to have a special xell for that

I tend to agree with flashing360 diagnosis. You're most likely having issues with your HDMI display due to your JTAG.

You don't have to change both points, however I do recommend them as it has been tested and know to work fine with HDMI display and optical sound output as well.

No you don't need an special xell for this, I would have even said you wouldn't need xell again except that you would need to do this from step 1 to make sure it all works right.

Check Azeem's tutorial for the alternative SMC points and follow my instructions on page 5 or the yellow tip box he displayed on the 1st page. It couldn't be simpler and takes like 5 steps to have freeboot running with the new SMC points.

EDIT Seeing that many people having issues with creating Freeboot with the alternative SMC points, to simplify things I will create SMC files and xell files with alternate smc points already changed and upload somewhere. If the mods allow me to post links for them then I shall do. Then all you have to do is just make the soldering, download the files, install xell, followed by creating Freeboot.

Anyways, I agree with what FLASH said, but I still won't count out what modmonster said.

As for changing the JTAG points, I think that its worth a try. Hopefully, it will fix the Video Glitching, otherwise the only option left will be to Reflow your GPU.

Anyways, joking aside, its a really great idea to make the XeLL file with modified SMC. Once you make them, upload them to Mediafire. After that, post the links in my tutorial

Just seen the photo from the original poster. Not seen that before but having seen it now, I don't think its reflow territory.
Hopefully you'll get it sorted with your jtag points.
Out of interest, if you write your original nand back. Does it do the same thing?

I'll make those xell & SMC files as soon I receive my HDMI board that I bought of someone on here as all I got at the moment is the xenon ones. Will upload them to a public file storage place but will need to ask either xmods or xecuter if it is alright to host a link for these files to download on the forums.
