strange XGD3 error

OK so my friends calls me up and says his xbox isn't reading games, giving dirty disc error and whatnot. So I put in a brand new laser and it read XGD3 originals and burn XGD2 games and kept saying unreadable disc for burnt XGD3.

I tried a new SATA cable, reflashing LT 3.0, finally I took my 0800 drive flashed LT 3.0 to that one and now everything is working. Anyone ever have this problem? both drive are Phat Lite-On and I did all my flashing with the X360USB Pro using the latest jungleflasher

Some lite-on drives are just fussy, I've had a similar problem with a couple of lite-on 74850C drives. My guess is faulty/dirty or cheap lasers. (take your pick)

wasn't the laser, I put it in another Lite-On drive and it read XGD3 burns fine. I got it sorted out by swapping the drive so it's good just thought it was odd.
