Ok, I've Hitachi's. I have use a SATA card with them.

I been viewing the video tutorials, and downloadable text, but I I'm undecided on the best way to get the job done.

I don't want to use the floppy method.
I have a connectivity kit also.

Which method is the best?

Thanks for your help.

Connectivity kit should put it in Mode b for you (at least for non 78's), the rest should be pretty straight forward

Since you specified a ms28, you can only use the connectivity kit to power the drive. Samsung drives do not have modeB. Follow the tutorial stated above and if you dont have a via chipset, get one - it will make your life a lot easier with that particular drive.

"you can only use the connectivity kit to power the drive."

-so your saying use the kit instead of the 360 to power the dvd drive.

"if you dont have a via chipset, get one - it will make your life a lot easier with that particular drive."

-i believe i have the right chipset, because I've already flashed four 78FK's

I heard that the floppy method can birck your drive, and the hard drive/NTFS dos disc doesn't flash. I heard because it doesn't support more than 30 GB hard drives.
