stuck on update screen

ok here is my problem..

im guessing MW3 is what triggered the update...it was taking so long to update over network for some odd reason so i stepped away from the console.. when i returned the xbox was off, so i figured oh ok i guess the update finished. then my husband said he thought i was done and figured if he pushed cancel he could play his game but it took so long to boot back up to thedash that he turned it off to let the system rest. so

turned console on and it booted straight to the applying update screen
ive tried updates from 16202-16747 via usb system update stopped(FAT32)

inserted game system update stopped
3f4a-403a-b600-0f00-c000-0059

with game in console inserted usb fat32 with update loaded
3f4a-403a-b600-0f00-c000-0286

with game in console usb loaded with 16547 update..finally loads midway through and slowly inches its way then..
system update failed..
cant update your console...

used x360 toolbox to decode
error: current version 2.0.16202.0

required:2.0.16442.0
to fix error you are required to update console with systems update 2.0.16442.0...searched everywhere for the darn update not sure if i was looking in the right areas or what kind of update i was looking but found squat.. couldnt find beta versions either...

really frustrated and been on the for the past week... been searching for a solution.. tried everything so far i dont have the tools spare parts to create my own tools to flash (liteon dg-16d5s/1175) drive... if theres a possible way to flash without using a probe that would be awesome.. all i got on me to help fix this is my laptop advance driver sets and usb drives...im really trying to find an alternative to flashing at the moment..


drive: liteon dg-16d5s fw ver. 1175
xbox 360 slim, second hand. no sign of any modifications on inside...

Is it a 4GB console?

Does the console have a hard drive attached?

If it doesn't, attach a hard drive and see if the update will continue from the disc.

I have never heard of update version 16442 - not even as a BETA version.

oh and i followed all instructions on xbox site, also spoke with a rep from xbox no help i think she was reading her instructions from the xbox site too... xbox slim cant connect to live due to update loop on boot up.. all hardware connected properly and running fine...

i dont have a hard drive for it nor did it come with one...on the update i know i searched and nothing

Try this. Power the console off. Hold the sync button on the console in and power the console on keeping the sync button held in until the console boots up fully. That may clear the failed update and then allow you to fully update the console again. This worked on a phat xbox for me in the past, never tried on a slim.

Like Blakey said never heard of 16442 dashboard. Is that the correct error code.

works on a slim as did it about 4 months ago

ive tried to sync and power button and it just stays on the update loop so iheld it in for a long time thinking it was clearing out what ever was in the cache now after a long wait with brutilized finger tip lol... nothing

your MW3 is it a retail or back up game,if a copied game try the original

4 gb...
no hard drive..only 16 gb usb

when i first turned on console i went to check the storage it said unformatted
