Stuck on "xecuter rox my box"

Ok, guys. First post here. Anyway, here's my problem. I've installed my third Xecuter 3 chip but this time there's a problem I cant' figure out. The installation went smoothly and so did the flash... or at least I thought it did. Whenever I turn on the xbox with the chip enabled, it plays the flubber and then hangs on the "xecuter rox my box" screen. I tried to reflash it multiple times with no difference. Luckily I had a spare Xecuter 3 so I swapped it out and tried flashing it. It does the EXACT SAME THING. So now I'm wondering if it could possibly be a solder point. But I was under the impression that it would not load the flash screen at all if all the points were not soldered properly.

Anyone have any ideas?

Oh, by the way, the xbox is a Halo Edition 1.6. Thanks.

Well, I use evolutionx untill I ftp everything over. Then I use XBMC. Why do you ask?

you might try resetting X3CL to default settings.

How can I get to X3CL if I'm frozen at the "xecuter rox my box screen"?

Ok, I just tried that and it still hangs on the "rox my box" screen.

No, there's no way you're getting to X3CL.

I have a Halo Ed 1.6 that did almost the same thing to me. (3 wks ago)
Mine actually would say "Programming Failed" after it would finish flashing.

After that mine would load a dash (having installed it from Slayers) BUT only after I tried flashing like 53 times.

ANYWAY, this is my point, at no point could my Halo Ed access the X3CL, not even after 5 re-solders. The thing that worked? When I looked at the X3 pin socket, I noticed it didn't sit perfectly flat on the pinheader, so I thought the socket might be shorting or something like that, and pulled up the chip slightly. (About 1/16th of an inch)

Now every flash takes without error, and X3CL is my best friend! 8-B

NOTE: This might not work for you, because pins 13, 14, and 15 are what the X3 needs to access X3CL, so AFTER you try reposositioning the chip a few times, back to the soldering board!

Thank you! I'll give that a shot. At least I feel like I'm moving forward again. I'll try pulling the chip up off the pinheader a tiny bit and post my results.

Thanks, but that is the bios I'm using. I know it's not corrupt because I've flashed 2 other 1.6 xboxes w/ xecuter 3 chips using it. I'm almost convinced it's a contact point.

Well. It's been a few months and I haven't had a chance to re-position the chip untill now. Unfortunately, it didn't help. I have also just tried updating to the new X3 3294 v16plus bios that was released on June 1st, but that did not work either. I am still frozen on the "Xecuter Rox my Box" screen. Does anyone have any ideas?

SUCCESS!!!

Finally. It turns out my soldering points were all fine. While stuck on that infamous screen, all I had to do was hold A + B + X + Y. It rebooted and took me to Live Config. Such a simple solution...

Holding those buttons resets the bios back to it's original config...

This means that radio5 must of set his VGA settings wrong or something along those lines.

So holding these buttons will save me?

I'm in a similar situation, stuck on that screen with the new bios. 3294

But with the previos version flashed to the chip i get a blank screen here.

Will this cure me,

At what point do i hold the buttons and for how long?

Cheers

I am having the same problem. It just hangs on the Rox my box screen. The only way I can do anything is use a boot dvd to get to the boot disk dash from there I can back up a disk to the hd. It kindda stinks to do that every time but for now thats all i can do. I am going to try to resit my chip again. I will keep u updated.

By the way, I guess i installed the dash correctly. I thought I did somthing wrong, but installing the dash w/ ftp was easy. I was trying to figure out how I could mess it up but I don't think I did.
