Hmmm I just did a fresh install of XP on my PC, completely reformatted my HDD and stuff like that. I'm still having troubles accessing a few sites like www.teamxbox.com or hotmail.com or even AIM. This happened before I did the reformat too. I don't know what's causing this trouble. I run PC Cillin and Spybot, nothing came up at all. Some websites take a really really long time to load, like myspace.com, other websites just time out. But Xbox-Scene site and yahoomail seem to be nothing wrong. I'm using Firefox by the way, similar issues with IE as well. Can someone help me pointing out the problems?

Windows XP... there's your problem! :) I highly recommend Linux, if you are willing to devote just a little time learning how to use it. But hey, if you still need your PC for gaming purposes, then I guess you don't have any other choice due to Microsoft's monopoly...

Okay, back to your question:
Well, have you also tried running Adaware? I know it makes no difference in the case of you having a fresh install, but it can never hurt...

microsoft basher in an xbox forum? DUDE!
As for the connection issues, AdAware is a good suggestion. Microsoft's Anti SpyWare Beta software is free and does catch things that AdAware does not.
You have to trouble shoot the connection as well. What is your ISP, the DNS can be causing the slow connections, you couuld ad the troubled sites to your HOSTS file to bypass the DNS server.

I bought my XBox before I learned on just how evil and untrust worthy that worthless company is... I'm never touching another one of their products again. Sony, Nintendo, Linux, or Macintosh from here on out.

That's ironic - I just did exactly the same thing to my brother's PC - upgarded it from XP home to XP Pro SP2 - formatted HD etc, not a problem. It works fine with Firefox & IE.

So, what have you installed on the PC after the XP install? Also, is your internet connection stable?

Personally, I run Win2k Pro on my laptop - I hate XP. Never had any trouble with 2K.

Problem solved! There wasn't a check in the box "Obtain IP address automatically" option. I did that, reset the router and voila. Thanks to airjeir for suggesting about the DNS, that's where I looked and found the problem.
