Hi all , just thought i would share my success story this evening.

i have just completed my first HDD upgrade to a 120G Maxtor Diamond.

Surprise surprise i did not get a single hiccup. I followed the tutorial on this site and it was smooth sailing all the way. Although i did take my time, a whole 2 hrs from start to finish. However more haste less speed certainyly worked for me!

One extremely minor point about the tutorial is that it should mention the torx driver required for removing the HDD from the plastic housing, i nearly rounded of my No. 10 trying to unscrew at an angle in order to get some kind of bite on one particularly tight screw. I assume you need a No. 15?

So anyone else got any stories to share?

I read that you can upgrade your hard drive with the X3 and X3 bios. If this is true, it will be great! Easy! Is it true?

It takes less then a minute, then ftp your backup info back to new drive. That easy.

This is how I upgraded to a Maxtor 250gig. Worked like a charm. At first I started to read other lengthy tuts on how to do a hd upgrade. I am glad I saw the option in the bios instead
