Hi mates,

I just wanted to share my experience working on a Jasper BB 256 MB I finished this afternoon. As those tend to be troublesome, maybe all this can help others to work out similar motherboards.

I did several tests with aud_clamp ON & OFF, voltages on R-JTAG chip and changing values on the JTAG ALT V2 QSB. DIP's 4, 5 & 6 never made the board boot Xell and after 5 attempts it RRoD'ed.

In the end, this is the setup that makes the console glitch in no more than 2 or 3 glitches:

R-JTAG Kit used: Starter (no NAND QSB's) -- soldered 5V to the red point listed here (thx BL4K3Y!)
DIP's ON: 3, 7 & 8
Voltage setting: OPEN
Aud_clamp: ON (made it as short as possible)
CPU_RST point used: C7R112 (standard point; R8C2 is too fragile IMO). Standard length, didn't trim it at all
JTAG ALT V2 Jumper: 470

All the best.

Pete
