Hey guys, so I flashed my xbox 360 elite a couple of days ago, it played backups well...

Now, when I turn it on, it "freezes" after the boot scene, and then it takes like 1-2 minutes before it actually gets to the NXE menu.. What could be the issue? (I also hear a ticking noise sometimes)

For the ppl who will ask if it is RGH'ed - No, its's not! :)

(It's on latest dash)

well a ticking noise sounds like a failing hard drive, and the xbox does scan the hard drive before loading the menu so try it without a hard drive attached?

You are very right when it comes to the sound. It is indeed from the hard drive, but what makes me curious is the console itself.. even without the HDD, it boots slow (not as slow as it is when it has the HDD attached)..

Maybe I should re-update my xbox? :)

EDIT: It takes about 2 mins w/o the drive, and ~5 mins with HDD :(

Think the drive is the problem here... When I disconnected the drive, the console started as a normal console should ^^

What could be the cause? The drive? The wires? The flash itself?...

Any ideas?

(Sorry for double post!!) :/

Remove any additional usb devices and try again, if its still slow, then disassemble the console and boot it with the dvd drive disconnected and see how it boots.
