LITEON DG-16D4S - SLIM Successful Kamikaze Mod but games stop playing 20min into

I performed a Kamikaze mod, probably my 15th and it plays games for 20 to 30minutes before locking up. Powering off the console and back on will allow you to keep playing the game.

I replaced the laser and it still does this.

Any ideas???

All the above. I installed a backup (Disney Universe. non ap25/xgd3) to the hard drive just now and playing it off the hard drive. Will let you know if it locks up at all.

Ok so I installed the game to the hard drive and it played like a champ. (backup copy)

However when I play ANY games straight from the disk (backup or original) they will stop playing about 20min into it.

Could this be an almost bad kamikaze mod? Like maybe I went down a little too deep but not deep enough where it "broke" the IC?
Has this ever happened before?

It is recommended with XDG3 to install to the HD in order to play properly. Had the same issue. Installs work like a charm
