After about 3 hours of Frustration and doubt, I finally nailed it!! So Far ... So Good.

Anybody with a Falcon mobo and your getting RROD/3 Red Lights should try these settings, as they have worked in my favor.

2-way switch on

3-way switch in the middle

Jumper set to 470

Aud_Clamp Install (1-3 Jumpers soldered)

R-Jtag Chip Voltage set to default

Dip Switches: 2 and 7 ON only = Instant Boots every time/ Very stable
1 and 7 ON only = Instant Boots- 10 second/ Unstable
3 and 7 On only = 5-10 Second Boots/ Very Unstable
4 and 7 ON only = RROD after about 7 cycles
5 and 7 On only = RROD on boot or within 2 cycles
6 and 7 On only = RROD constant on boot

Also, if you have not Written a new hacked nand to go with the R-Jtag you need to do so - WNYConsoles helped me out with that bit of info.

I already had my CPU Key and didn't need to boot Xell. In the Xebuild options ,make sure you tick "Jtag" and "AUD Clamp" if you went that route.

Next, Be sure you have your orig nand dump in the source and your keys also. Now click "create image". After your image (updflash.bin)

is built locate it and load it into the source and click "Write Nand". You should be ready to go at this point. Good Luck!!

Thanks Again Tx, you rock!!

My wiring doesn't differ from what's in the installation guide. You could try change the voltage on the chip to 1.2v or 1.8v, I have not tried to tweak with these yet.

No voltage jumper gives me instant rrod, 1,2 sometime it glitches but is freezing on boot or sitting on bootscreen for an infinite amount, and 1.8 gets infinite glitches. Tryed many dips settings and aud_clamp parameters, nothing is working.

I assume the console worked before installing the R-Jtag? Sounds like you may have some points on one or more of the qsb crossed,or something may not be soldered enough. I would check some of your soldering points again, if you find any that look questionable try again, then test. Try not to mess with any tweaking until you get some solid boots just using the dip switches. You should land on a combo that works eventually

Update*

Changed the voltage setting on the R-Jtag chip to 1.2v with even better xbox stability results, absolutely no RROD's. Here's what I found:

Dip switches:

2 and 7 on = Instant Boot (fastest result)
1 and 7 on = Instant Boot
3 and 7 on = Instant Boot/5 cycles
4 and 7 on = 10 -15 cycles
5 and 7 on = No Boot/constant cycle
6 and 7 on = No Boot/constant cycle

When you came to this section of the forum, you would have been directed to the R-JTAG TEMPLATE post.

The only way we can properly help is if you start a thread with the details contained in that template. Please do so.

sure it boots just fine with retail and.never had RROD, i resoldered as clean as possible every wire, with particular atention for the CPU_RST. without the case (motherboard alone) it boots with two cycles, thats the best result i had.
i tested my r-jtag in an other falcon and it just instant boots with 2-7 dips.

Try to post some detailed pics of your install, it just makes the process easier for others to assist you. Also, Jrunner has been updated and now supports the R-Jtag setting. Update your nand and see if it yields any better results. I've been having to do all my testing manually, I let my brother borrow my JR-Programmer and have not had the chance to use the Rater feature yet. Atleast you're getting boots, most people on the forum are having issues even getting that much progress.

That's because a number of people don't know how to follow instructions.

There are three power settings and 6 DIP values. That's 18 configurations which need to be tested, not to mention ensuring your soldering is ok.

Very True, I believe some of the excitement/anticipation of this new hack has caused some brain malfunctions and hasty decisions. A lot of rush jobs and dead/dying boxes... a shame really. I have the 1.8v to test still and will post my findings after work tonight. I'm very pleased with the speed and reliablity I've found on 1.2v, No RRODs and boots flawlessly. A hell of an upgrade from the Coolrunner Rev C I was torturing myself with.

I decided to do the 1.8v testing, here's the results: 20 tests on each dip

1 and 7 on = 10 cycle+ boots
2 and 7 on = Instant Boots/ 5 cycle
3 and 7 on = 5 - 10 cycles
4 and 7 on = 10 cycle+ boots
5 and 7 on = No Boot/constant cycle
6 and 7 on = No Boot/constant cycle

No RRod's during these tests either

Looks as though Dip 2 is the "sweet spot" on all voltage settings for this Falcon, 1.2v is most reliable in my case. I have not changed anything with the resistors during these tests, I'm going back to 1.2v and then try some tweaking on those later tonight.

The ability to watch the boot via POST monitor/RATER is the biggest lifesaver.
well i get almost always instant boot now, changed the cpu_rst wire and it works. but when it boots the xbox stays on the swirly logo screen but it did not freeze since i can still see the animation, any advice please ?

Some interesting results when setting the resistor to 330. R-Jtag is running on 1.2v with Aud_Clamp.

Dip switches:

2 and 7 on = Instant Boot (20 of 20 Instants)
1 and 7 on = Instant Boot (17 of 20 Instants)
3 and 7 on = Instant Boot/5 cycles (4 of 20 Instants)
4 and 7 on = Instant Boot/5 cycles (2 of 20 Instants)
5 and 7 on = No Boot/constant cycle
6 and 7 on = No Boot/constant cycle

No RROD's on any tests. There were a few anomalies causing the R-Jtag to "Spaz out", meaning when powering the console on the green glitch light was pulsing very rapidly without end. I had to power down to fix the issue, and was probably due to me not giving the xbox enough cool down time during the testing. I can't wait on my brother to get back to me about the JR-P, just ordered another from Xconsoles.

*Update*

I ran the same tests again last night and got the same results, I gave the xbox some extra cool down time and the glitch light didn't have any issues like before.

As of right now, 330 has the best overall results in my case. The 470 setting will not instant boot on dip setting 4-7 and 330 will.

I'm stuck between 2 settings:

1.2v with aud_clamp and 330 resistor on dips 2-7

or

1.2v with aud_clamp and 470 resistor on dips 2-7

JR-P will be the true judge when i fire up the rater.

With respect this is in the actual instructions so it's not really surprising that you had trouble

Happy you got it going though !

I've been working like crazy, but I finally got a chance to test this Falcon out with the JRP and am very very pleased with the results!! I knew I was at least going to get a WTF! Rating, but I don't think you can get any better than a PERFECT 10!!

f**king Amazing... I love you guys!

The settings for these results are::

Dips 2 & 7 On
Aud_clamp option
330 Jumper
1.2v Jumper
C7R112 CPU_RST
