Swap Disk Does it Really Work?

I have a modded xbox, and was my son is bugging me to chip his PS2, well I come across this item called swap disk . A plastic card and 2 disk. does this work and enable you to play backed up disk? and if yes, how does it work, I mean what exactly does it do? thanks for any help.

I have a buddy of mine that uses it and he loves it. I guess the PS2 has something specific it liiks for on the DVD's when it boots up, the swap disk gives it that , then you swap the disk out...Yes you can play back ups
