Im just wondering if its worth replacing the laser of just flash the dvd key to a spare hitachi 47 both are but have a spare from a friend and my own hitachi is failing to read backups would this be the laser dying out they stickers both say 47 but it has DJ, DH does this make a difference ? and i play a backup game on one xbox does that mean i have to burn another to play it on a different xbox since it updated with the title update?

lt2.0+ sorry i have a spare hitachi same revision 47 but is it worth swapping the lasers or just flashing the key as the one that i use for my xbox is not reading any backups i made and thinking the laser has reached its limits so is it easier to just flash with the key ? i have a jf log if you want to see it
and can i get flagged if i have played a backup in another xbox and used it to play online will i still be able to use it in another xbox or do i need to burn again ? sorry for the original post was in a rush

You can just swap the PCBs in the Hitachi drives - much easier than swapping lasers or writing keys.
What makes you think using your backup on another console will get you flagged?

thank you martin for the reply i already have the keys backed up and i find it alot easier to use the x360usbpro my soldering skills are very bad and dont want to mess it up do i flash with the key from the other drive for it to work ?
i assumed you would get flagged because it updates the dae.bin on the drives or disk i get really confused about it

As for swapping PCBs, I don't think I mentioned being able to solder. Maybe you should google 'hitachi xbox PCB' and see how much soldering there is. Better still, open one of your Hitachi drives and take a look.
