by wireless connector thing i going to assume you mean solderless adapter (xapter), you can put it into a different box as long as the bios you flash to the chip is compatible to both box versions
also, if the box versions differ as in a v1.0-1.5 and 1.6/1.6b then the solderless adapter also changes with whole install
