GENERAL Swapping a Hitachi 47 with a Hitachi 79

My current hitachi 47 laser seems to have died and wont read games would it be possible to swap the pcb in the 47 and put it into the 79 as i have googled but the results in spoofing and such but the 79 was pulled from a dead zephyr and if it's possible to do it would i have to unlock the 79 ?

Either swap the pcb from the 47 to the 79. The housing is the same. Or easier to swap the laser from the 79 to the 47. Job done.

It's not exactly the same - the housing for the 79 allows for a slightly thicker PCB. So in this instance it will be fine. A 79 PCB in a 47 housing is a much tighter fit.
