GENERAL Swapping a LiteOn 0251c for a Samsung

Hello, this is my firts post i hope this is the correct forum.

I read several threads about this and i just wanna set things clear.

My scenario is the following:

1- I flashed a liteon 0251c on a phat xbox using the pmt method to extract the dummy.bin it was on LT 1.x

2- Spofeed the key to a LT3.0 firm and saved the file Dvd keys matched.

3- go to MK32 tab Liteon Erase, then switch off the drive goes into vendor mode status 0x72

4- Then Click on "Write" everything is ok.

5- Click on Outro to restrore the drive and plug off the drive and conected to the xbox360 then test.

So far when i tested any backup games (backups tested on other console and they worked just fine) in the drive recently flashed i get open tray and unrecognized disk. However It Runs Originals Just Fine!.

Try to flashing again and get the same results.

Desesperate i changed the laser with another phat liteon drive 0251c and now it dont reads originals or backups, put the original laser back on and get the same disaster result no originals or backup get readed. I dont know why i do wrong.

I borrowed from a friend a samgung drive flashed with lt 1.91.

** Now my questions are the following: **

1- I have to spoof the liteon key to the samsung drive to ensure my xbox read disc?

2- If i flash the Samsung drive there is a chance that it dont read any backups only orinals?

3- If i pot theak the liteon drive there is a chance that it run backups or originals again?

4- Can just swap the samsung drive without spoofing the key? (i dont care getting banned from live i dont play online or connect the xbox to internet)

5- There is a way to flash a Liteon drive without any chances of getting open tray or unrecognized disc problems?

This is all of my questions i hope someone of here can clarify me this, sorry if i annoying som1

the other console you tried your backups on is it the old flash and same dashbaord as the console that doesnt play them?
the chances of open tray or unrecognized disc problem is ur laser not the flash

Samsung drive hasn't the AP 25 checks mechanism so swapped drive would read old games only.
1. Yes, particularly
2. Yes, AP25 and XGD3 disks will not be booted
3. I think that laser was damaged while replacing (replacing the whole drive was better way)
4. No. You should reflash samsung witch LiteOn key (without model spoofing)
5. Flashing the drive can't cause these problems. Unrecognised disk = disk has LT20 patch and it can't be booted on LT30, open tray = bad disk quality

The game tested was Syndicate, in a Slim Liteon dash 15574 with LT3.0 and tested confirmed working in a previusly flashed Phat Liteon updated to LT3.0 dash 13710

The console that doesnt play them is 14xxx

Are you really sure that is the laser not flash? cuz it plays games bought from stores orig. no backups after flash :S

5. Before flash the drive was loading 2.0 games, after flash no 2.0 no 3.0 only originals the 3.0 game was tested on the drives mentioned below.

i sorted an xbox the other week,it would play originals fine but play a backup copy of the same game and read errors,didnt have a spare laser so did a pot tweak and the backup worked fine after that and if u think it the flash re flash it

back ups cause more strain on the laser than originals..that's why originals will work while the back ups don't

I dont think that is a bad flash, i just think that sometimes the flashing messes up with the laser or something, beacuse i see some ppl having the same issue than me after flashing maybe is just bad luck.

can you recommend me a good guide for pot tweat or calibration for the laser rails?

4. Use JF Manual Spoof to insert key.bin in the LT
5. Flashing the driwe is software process and it couldn't cause hardware problems.

the flash isnt the problem as people have stated,sort ur laser out,as it says above it takes a lot more for the laser to read a copied disk then it does the original and the copied XGD3 game types take more to read um
