Hi i installed my xecuter 3 as per the instruction for a 1.1 xbox. when i turn on the xbox it boots from the standard xbox bios, even with the chip installed. The blue light on the chip comes on but i get nothing on the bank select pannel, when the bank pannel is connected the chip gets hot. if i plug everything in without the bank select the chip runs nice and cold. With the chip installed the xbox never displays any sign of booting from the chip bios. suggestions?

persuaders if all your panel doesnt light up at all then maybe a solder connection has come loose?

im not sure that a lose connection would cause the chip to heat up though, thanks for the suggestions so far, keep em comming :D

there is two lights on the chip that light up, one is for the 3.3v and one is for the 5v. if you only have one light then it is a soldering problem check you soldering. and find out which light is on and which light is off.

you are talking about the blue lights on the x3 chip itself aren't you and not the external switch?

Re: switch bank doesnt light up, chip gets hot! (but not to

as i stated in my earlier post. there are two blue leds on the chip itself. one is for the 3.3v and one is for the 5v. if you ony have one light on than you need to determine which one is not on and check your lpc for possible bad soldering.

i can not remember which light is the 3.3v and which is the 5v. you will have to do a search to find that answer.

Re: switch bank doesnt light up, chip gets hot! (but not to

the 5v led is the one closest the alt 5v pin, the one u use to connect the X3 to the alternative 5v power

actually the 5v is the one next to the contrast dial, the 3.3v is next to the alt 5v.

click.

Helloooo!!!

Look in the port on the x3 and switch bank where the plugs go in, you will find that there are bent pins in there, or trapped wires where they go under the controller ports

persuaders:

you are an animal, if its not working properly why risk your chip, fix it before you have to buy another

I'm gonna make a JTAG

Well I've been modding for almost a year. Its time. I wanna make a JTAG. I google searched about it, looked all over 360mods and even 7s. After reading everything I have a few questions. What type of wire should I get, CAT5? and also, I only have one JTAGable xbox and it has a bad DVD drive, do I even need that? also its a Xenon that is still on the old blade dashboard.

Re: I'm gonna make a JTAG

make sure you cat5 cable is solid strand copper wire.
and keep you cable as short as possible.

the dvd drive isn't a big deal as you can use usb memory sticks
to load programs to hard drive.
