switching between modded bios and 256 backup

I recently put my xbox into a clear acrylic pc case. I had some minor problems but was able to fix just about everything, but I noticed that when I am playing a game after a few minutes it will lock up, and it switches to 256 backup. I think it had something to do with the flash protection, because it seem to stop doing this after I shut the protection off.
Does this make sense?

Thanks

method for cutting case

a long time ago i saw someone say they cut their case by drilling holes into the case and then using a little hacksaw bit to saw in between the holes then sandpaper whats left to get a smooth finish.

if i were to use this method of cutting my case, what drill bit and what hacksaw bit would you reccommend i use?

Re: method for cutting case

not a hacksaw... use a coping saw, you cutting plastic right.....

they make different sizes for different applications so get the right one
for your needs. and they are pretty cheap.
as for the drill bit it doesn't matter other then the hole has to be big enough
for the blade to fit through...

also a dremel works great for large fast cuts and the coping saw for detail
work.

Re: method for cutting case

ive done some reading about dremels and they all seem 100+ bucks.

im scared if i go on ebay and get some knockoff for 40 bucks it wont get the job done.

wont a cheap dremel melt the plastic just as much as it cuts the plastic? causing several other problems...?

mine was like $70 and has different speeds so I can turn it down and cut plastic without melting it.

Re: method for cutting case

last time I was in walmart I was pissed cuz I saw the dremel I bought at lowes a few months back
lowes price: $100
wallyworld price: $50

only difference mine came with a plastic carrying case...still not worth double the price.

for $50 its well worth it
