GENERAL Switching DVD Drives

Hi guys, this is a bit strange to me as I was once quite good at helping when it came to modding Original Xbox's. Well here goes.
I have a Liteon 93405C drive taken from a JTag Xbox and I would like to know that if I fllash it will I be able to put it into my stock Phat Xbox?? The drive in the Stock Xbox is a BenQ according to what I have seen on here by comparing the wire colour and shape of case top and tray, it has 83850C FW.
Not sure what other info I may need to include on here, so if any info is missing to help me please ask.

I am using a X360USB pro with Jungle flasher and a Molex for the flash.

I am a quick learner when it comes to this as I enjoyed modding the Original Xbox and really want to get into modding the 360 and seeing what potential it holds.

Also like to mention that the drive I have in the Stock Xbox I would like to keep that way, I only wish to get the key from it to put onto the other drive if I am able to, that way the original drive is still fresh with its original firmware so that I can always replace it if I ever need to.

This is a little confusing. Are u saying that your benq drive in your stock xbox has been spoofed as a liteon and u want to put a liteon drive in your stock xbox to be able to update dash and play online.

Sorry I checked the wiring colour in bad light, they are both Liteon drives the one in stock Xbox is 83850c, the other from the JTag is 93450c.
No i want to flash the drive that is not in Xbox to be able to use as modded in theXbox, the drive that is in the Xbox which is its original drive I want to keep clean and not mod it in anyway, I only want to know if I will be able to get the key from it and put it on the drive I want to mod.

Still not making sense. But all phat liteon drives after dashboard update 13141 have the same firmware rev 02510c.

Yes you can extract the key. Download jungle flasher and read the PDF that comes with it. Fyi as long as you have your key it doesn't matter if it's flashed you can always go back to stock on phats. When you probe it then u will save your dummy.bin so really there is no need for using a different drive but to each is own good luck

No problem one thing I didn't see you mention is if you had a probe which is needed for liteon phat drives.

I do have a probe but according to the JF tut I wont need it as I have a 83850c v1 drive. I also have an attachment for the Xbox that sits where the HDD goes with 3 SATA adapters, 2 DVD drive adapters and a probe attached too, I am unsure what this is.
It looks similar to the plastic tray that the HDD sits on but also has switch's on which read (XB360-pc)(Mode on-Mode off-XB360)(On-Off) and (Eject) the eject is a button. Any idea what this is and what it is used for??

and geek is right you will need the probe IF the console has been updated to 13146. because when the system updated to 13146 it also applied a firmware update which changed all phat lite-on drives to the 02510c firmware rev. thus requiring a probe. so check your dash version in system settings and if it is 13146 or 13599 or higher then your lite-on has 02510c FW not 83850c FW.

As I have only just bought this Xbox second hand only a few days ago, im not sure how much it has been used online (not much im guessing) and how old/new my dash is.
The dash in my system info reads 2.0.16537.0. When I done a test run with JF I got to the stage where it asked me to eject tray to half way point to read key but I chose not to go any further until I got some expert advice from on here.
So with the info I have given do I need probe or can I continue with SATA/USB route??

I did read the post which you provided a link to and have saved it but it mentioned in that post that it also assumes I have original firmware from the 83850C which I do not.
Sorry if this has gone on a bit I just do not want to make a door stop out of my drive lol.

as your are above dash 13146 you will need the probe v3
you wont make a door stop out of your original drive unless you are writing to it, which is not what you are wanting to do anyway

when that guide starts and you open jungle flasher it says Note: If you do not have your Dummy.bin file then you need to use a CK3 Probe 3 to extract your DVD key - follow THIS GUIDE

So that guide works just fine but if you dont have an original fw dump or a dummy.bin then you need to follow the guide in the link right there, using a ck3 probe 3 to get your dummy.bin before continuing.

make sure you read all of the tutorial on the ck3 blaster before using it...

Ok this is my last question as I cant seem to find or have not looked in the right place for the answer.
I have downloaded the latest iXtreme and LT 3 but am unsure which of the firmware files to use for my drive,
The drive is a Liteon DG-16D2S-09C. Sorry if this question seems a bit pointless to some of you but I have tried to find out which I need but I'm getting myself confused with data overload lol.
