SX Core - Before buying

Hi guys,

So... I've been waiting for a while now to buy the SX Core and finally make my patched switch work with TX solution.
But I have a few questions before I buy it and I couldn't find any information within the F.A.Q - Read This Before Posting post.
Sorry if this questions are somewhat repeated but I searched a little bit and I couldn't find anything clear.

- Is there any problem if I buy the sx core and then install it right away?
The switch has been there waiting for this for a while, and I think I left it in version 6. something.
I found some answers to this that just says "update before installing" but I think right now if I connect my switch to the internet it will download the new firmware that as long as I know TX doesn't support yet.
What's the problem if I don't update it before installing the mod?

- I've seen a video talking about the company taking legal actions against some shops selling the mod and in one article they even say final users may get into legal troubles too if they buy this mod.
As long as I'm aware if I own the games I play with the mod (like buying the real ones) and I don't get any kind of revenue nor do some odd stuff I won't have any problems.
Is there anything else I need to be aware of in this topic?
Shouldn't I buy it?

- What's happening with the spanish shops?
Just one is online and it's really expensive, right now it's better to buy from USA or whatever.
Do you guys have any other links for the shop that may send to Spain with better prices?

Yes, in the guideline,better update your firmware to the latest one, do sx core installation and start to backup your sysnand.

Current 3.0.3 has some issues but not all the game can't be play. Just several games.

don't forget to create emunand right after you backup sysnand.

1. After installation, you can boot to Bootloader by holding Volume (+) right after SX OS Splash screen came out.
2. Choose option, then nand, then dump nand
3. After success, turn off, put sd card on pc and copy folder SXOS (inside there is backup folder. Secure it on the secure folder in your PC. You need this one day.)
4. Download SX OS firmware (Usually they use 3.0.3 beta)
5. Boot your switch and do number 1
6. Click option, emunand,create emunand and choose hidden partition
7. After finish, turn off and put sd card again on pc, copy boot.dat you download (SX OS) on the root.
8. Boot your switch and do number 1
9. You will see CFW with Emunand enable. Then click it and it will ask you to do activation. (Read the activation guide on this forum)
10. Turn off your switch and put sd card again on pc to see license_request file. Copy that and open website to get license.dat. Download it and put it on root.
11. Turn on and do number 1
12. Choose CFW and it will go directly to CFW and do setup until finish. Click on album and see SX OS with emunand on top right. (Check license tab to make sure activated/validated)
13. Turn off again and try to turn on and don't do anything. CFW should be the default FW to boot.
14. Viola, time to do modding on switch.

Like I know they had some people to test the product and all the stuff and now some sites are offering preorders, but... are all the shopts at "Where to buy" selling the final product or should I wait?
I can see some shops with a "Coming soon" image letting you buy it for example.

Just to answer your legal question, you are not going to get into any legal trouble installing a modchip onto your device, end of story.

Its final but that doesn't mean they won't release a better product later. Might as well buy it now. They go fast so buy them now so you don't have to wait. The preorder thing is just residual from the actual preorder period. Even if it were out of stock I think a preorder would be fine at that point. Always ensure your spot in line! Haha

Yes. The SX Core was final product. You can check your country for official reseller.

Do preorders mean anything now? I ordered in March from mod3dscards and their sites have gone down many times and moved domains twice. Now they have stopped responding to emails and their latest domain disappeared again. Did I just lose my money?

I've been trying to buy it for a while, but there's not that many resellers right now.
I've been waiting response to pay from txswitch for a week now.

So.. I've got my SX Core installed and running, with the "BOOT.DAT?" icon and green led.
I've downloaded SX OS from the official site and extracted "boot.dat" in the root of my micro sd card and the icon still there... what should I do?
Is there any official next steps guide?

Just to clarify... I've tried with two different micro sd cards (the one I was using before) and a new one 200GB freshly formatted in FAT32.
No luck whatsoever.
I've tried too with the stable SX SO version and the beta 3.0.4.

By the way, as suggested in this forum I updated my switch before installing the mod. I was in latest version 10.1.0 of N firmware.
