SX Core on Low Firmware Version?

Hi everyone,

I just got my brand new switch back in April and I've been planning on modding it with SX Core.

My Current Firmware Version is 8.0.1 so my question is, Can i install the modchip on my current firmware or should i update it first?

Im new to the switch hacking community so please be nice to me.

Update to the latest Nintendo firmware 10.1.0 before installing the chip.
No reason to stay on a low firmware with patched Switch.

Oh, ok. Ill update my firmware as soon as i get my hands on the modchip.
