SX Core successfully installed... next steps?

Just finished installing my SX Core and got the green light. What should my next steps be? I'm waiting on a new microSD to arrive on Friday so can't do anything just yet.

My official firmware was 7.1.0, didn't update before installing. I never play online, but realize some of the newer games will require a newer firmware so how do I go about updating this? First time in the switch modding scene so be gentle lol

Backup NAND then setup Emunand then you can update the Emunand to latest firmware and SXOS. Once Emunand is up you basically have 2 separate OS. One CFW and one OFW.
I'm not sure but I think SX Core will autoboot to CFW so you could actually never see OFW again unless you wanted to. Emunand will help keep you system safe from any NAND issues.

Not sure you can update your emunand AFTER.
Choidujour is prohibed on ipatched or v2 with sx core, i think you will brick you switch.

you can boot back to ofw by powering down your switch. then press volume + and power button until you see the SX OS Logo. Then select OFW.

Depends on your tools. If you have the right tools (quality soldering iron with adjustable temperature and soldering tip with <1mm diameter, no clean flux for electronics, solder/tin sn60/pb40, isopropanol 99,9% for cleaning the thermal paste, multimeter for checking the connection after soldering, magnifying glass to get a better view as the capacitors are very tiny) then you can try to solder it. Sadly there are people trying to solder such chips with cheap soldering iron and unknown solder tin without flux and in the end failing. I soldered two sx core and for me, it wasnt hard as I have soldering experience. For newbies that never done soldering chips to SMD will be hard.

So I backed up my sysnand, created an Emunand, activated SX OS license... but when I boot CFW with Emunand, the Nintendo logo shows up and then the switch shuts off (no light on SX core). What am I doing wrong?

Do I have to use an older version of SX OS (3.0.2 currently) with my 7.0.1 NAND?

Try to update to 10.0.4. I am on latest firmware (10.0.4) and it boots fine. The light goes of after trying to boot cfw, which is normal.

Do I use choidujournx to update the Emunand to 10.0.4? Read some people that said to avoid using it on patched switches or something

EDIT: Tried formating the SD card as FAT32 as others have suggested -> boot CFW on Emunand, I see the Nintendo logo twice and then it boots into OFW. Any idea what's happening here?

I've also tried using SX OS 2.9.2 but it just gives me the "boot.dat?" screen

Got it working. Ended up rebooting into OFW on sysnand and updating to 10.0.4. Backed up NAND again, new emuNAND, and presto!
How did you update your switch to 10.0.4?
I installed the SX Core modchip and worked prefect, but I am still at FW 9.2.
I need to update the firmware, could you please explain how you made it?

I made sure the sysnand was clean by restoring the backup, then booted into OFW and updated. Then I made another backup of the updated sysnand and created a new emunand.

So when I boot OFW, I should go online to Update Firmware? is it safe and won't banned/brick my switch?

There is a load of misinformation where I live regarding the installation, so one stupid question

Does it need welding?

I'm not 100% sure it's safe, but it was the only thing I could do. It wouldn't boot any other way. I removed the microSD card after the nintendo switch logo (during OFW boot) in case nintendo checks the contents of your SD card
