Hi everyone,

I have just installed a V1 and when I power on the blue light flashes very quick and then goes green (sometimes instantly) the screen then shows boot.dat and that’s as far as I get. I’ve tried 128/64/32 cards but again nothing
I’m sort of lost now so any help would great
Thanks

Is the MicroSD card formatted by the Nintendo Switch? It has to be formatted by the switch in order for it to recognize the files on it. Also you need to put the SX OS on the microsd card

What file system did you use to format the microSD? I couldn't get it to work with exFAT (default for Windows 10), I had to format using FAT32 to get the Switch to read it. I used guiformat to format it as FAT32 since W10 won't let you use FAT32 for larger cards

I have just used a third party programme to format to FAT32
I’ll try guiformat to see if that helps
What size sd card did you use??
Tried the above still no joy, any ideas guys??

Ok thanks mate I’ll give that a go
Given I get the boot.dat screen I presume the chip is installed correctly?

Yes or otherwise it should give red light and dont give boot.dat? screen. Did you check if you plugged the sd-card reader properly on its slot on motherboard?

no still the same problem. I went back and looked at SP1 and seems ok reassembled and again flashes blue, then to green and then boot.dat screen. I have someone coming round later with their switch. I am going to format the sd card in their switch and then add the boot.dat file and see if that makes any difference

Just tried formatted card in another switch still doesn’t work.
Is it worth trying a lower version of os?? Funny how blue light , green light and then boot.dat thought install had worked!!

Maybe try unplugging and replugging in the microSD reader (the actual microSD reader you unplugged during the installation of the SX core) in the switch. If it's not plugged in properly, it won't read the microSD

Hi guys already tried this a number of times but thanks for coming back to me . I really appreciate it. I just don’t know what the problem could be! I thought the soldering would be the hardest part hehe
