Hello everybody,

I have a new brand Nintendo Switch (vulnerable) with firm 4.0.1

I did the following steps:

1 - Update sysnand to 9.0.1
2 - Backup sysnand 9.0.1 with SX os (brand new 128GB sd card, supposed to be in exFat format)
3 - Activate SX os license
4 - Create emunand from 9.0.1 sysnand.
5 - (Here is the issue) Booting emunand, after nintendo logo I'm getting a black screen. (Of course I'm using latest version of SX OS 2.9.1)

My question is, why? What I did wrong? Need to do something with the SD card to allow exFAT format? 9.0.1 sysnand must support exFAT so...why I'm getting black screen? Need to format the card with the Nintendo Switch os before?

Hope someone can help me.

Thanks in advance,

Kind regards.

Well...don't want to boot cwf without emunand...for me seems a bit risky...
What we can check with that action?

Try inserting a blank sdcard with exfat on sysnand to see if it will update with exfat support, then do nand backup and new emunand

So that's it's needed to get exFAT support? I was thinking that in 9.0.1 exFAT support was a must. Only updating.

Yeah I know it’s confusing. If you don’t put an sdcard in the sysnand and it updates to for example what you did to 9.01 for some weird reason it won’t update the exfat support for the sdcard. That’s why I believe you got a blackscreen, but that should fix the issue for you

Thank you Leena, didn't know that, and...after add exfat support...should I create new sysnand backup + new emunand?

You welcome. I would just in case. I know it’s gonna take a little longer but it’s better if you have an exact copy of your sysnand and I would do an emunand as well so you don’t run into problems.

Try using 2.9.2. FWI if you updated your sysnand to 9.0.1 via Nintendo then you for sure have the exFAT driver. If that still doesn't work, then you most likely have corruption on your SD card.
