I just picked up a 360 used with issues for a good price. The DVD won't read games, tho. It will read CDs and DVD Movies but just won't read the games.

Could this have been a bad flash? I thought you had to open up the case to flash, but this one still has the seal intact.

Any other ideas?

No red lights, BTW. . .

I believe that he is implying that the box has probrably been flashed before and that the FW on the DVD drive (reflashed or replaced by the previous owner) does not match that key of the MoBo (they are "married" together with a "key string" which is unique to each box) so what you have is just what you described and without the key from the orgininal FW from the stock DVD drive it will not work any better than it does right now.

Just a guess...

I just opened the system up - the seal was certainly intact. Not sure what the problem is unless M$ botched this one from the get go. . . :(

maybe a defective drive. Try dumping the firmware and buying a new drive and injecting the key.
