Sysnand safe if not using Nintendo services?

Hi,

I recently installed my SX Lite and did a nand backup before anything else, then got into CFW, activated SX OS and all the other basic stuff. OFW before modding is 8.0.1. I intend to use my Switch exclusively for single-player gaming and have no interest in any Nintendo service or feature that requires connecting to one, so I'm tempted to just use sysnand for everything.

My question is whether I can safely use the "non-Nintendo" network functionality of the console, and if it will be possible to update the console's firmware if I happen to be banned, since ChoiDujour doesn't work with the SX Lite. Also, are there any drawbacks to using sysnand other than not keeping the sysnand clean?

I apologise in advance for the noob question, but even after searching this forum and others I couldn't find anything that fully answered this.

If for some reason you end up corrupting sysnand its game over, with emunand if you corrupt you can just delete and start over.

Its a extra layer of protection against bricking, tho if you know what you are doing then using sysnand is ok.

Thanks for your answer.

I thought about the extra protection, but as long as I can restore a nand backup it shouldn't be an issue, right? Since I can do that through the TX boot menu.

Regarding the online functionality, do you know if it's possible to update a CFW emunand or sysnand on a system with the SX Lite? I couldn't find any mention of it anywhere, only that ChoiDujour won't work.
