ANSWERED System update req'd when transferring games?

Guys,
When i transfer games from DVD to my usb external drive using FSD it gives me an option to also transfer across the game $System Update folder. Why might this be required?

It basically stops the console asking you for a system update that the game may require.

So i may just as well not bother with it unless that particular game requires it.

If a game needs an update you shouldn't be running the m$ one so you don't need the Systemupdate folder.

Remove it to save some space on your hdd
